MIND THE GAP!

MIND THE GAP!
Okay! So “Mind the Gap” is a warning to passengers to be careful when crossing the gap between the train door and station platform. It is a very famous line I would say so.. and once you hear “Mind The Gap!” know that it is from the London underground!
Okay so I’m guessing you guys can tell I’m a bit obssesseddd with London…. (:
It is myy dreaaaam place! I’m sure we all have a dream place we’d like to live in or visit! My other dream placeeeee is Californiaaaa (:
I wish we can just wake up one day and just take a road trip wherever we wanted to…. without having to worry about anything and just go..drive and drive awaaay! Like to Californiaaa (:
That’s besides the point though! London is (the millionth time I say this) but a great place to visit, and it is not the only place! There’s plenty of other places, in the U.S as well, and outside like Paris! Bottommmm linee is that we should all before we get too old go vissssiitt our dream placeeee (:

What do we all girls love? Well, the MAJORITY of us.
SHOPPING!

Well, guess what? Oxford Street in London has many of our favorite stores such as Forever 21, H&M, Top Shop (I don’t shop there but they have C U T E clothes, and it is too expensive for me:/ ), Gap, and etc. Oxford street is an exciting place to shop. It is so pretty  and filled with people talking in french, to other languages I did not understand. I love to shop, so with a bunch of those stores I know I can have a fun experience. Oh! and Victoria Secret has opened their first UK store, that’s another place to add to your Places To Go list, except for guys…unless they want to see pretty girls, then they could pass by there (;

Another tourist attraction is Camden Lock Market! Camden Lock Market is a market filled with retail stores, restaurants, and etc. That market is a MUST go. If you want to buy souvenirs, shoes, or cute shirts you can go there! I honestly wish I can go back to that market and taken advantage of every deal in there! They have some pretty good deals. For instance, some cute tank tops were 3 for 15 pounds, and at other stores in Kensington, London were 10 pounds each! That makes a huge difference. You can also work out deals  with the owners of the stores, pretend you are not satisfied with the deals, and walk away. They cannot stand to see a customer walk away, so they will change their deal just for you. That’s what happened to my friend and I (:
Oh! My other two friends said they were engaged so they got a cheap deal on some stuff they bought.
Well, there is more places to shop and look around, but these two are the main ones I really liked (:

Madame Tussauds

Hello dear friends again! So I have been thinking about the places I want to travel, and WHY one of my goals is to travel. I want to travel because I want to see the world out there, learn about other cultures, and see the beauty of life. I want to do so before my life gets too busy after college with work, and all that, that I won’t have the time to travel.

Now back to London! One of the places that I find interesting to go visit, especially for us teens is the wax museum, Madame Tussauds. Madame Tussauds is one MAJOR tourist attraction in London. This museum displays waxworks of historical figures, film stars such as Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson, oh my! and sport stars such as Tony Hawk, and Kobe Bryant! Does that not sound cool? I think it is pretty awesome. I would feel special if there was a waxwork of me in a museum. Imagine all the hard work  and dedication that went in that waxwork, especially when each figure’s hair is washed and the make-up is retouched regularly. DID YOU KNOW that each strand of hair in each figure is inserted individually? It takes them about five weeks just to finish their head! Sounds like they have a lot of patience. I think this museum is a place to look forward to when visiting London. I would go for Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson, although that might not be them in real life..it is probably the closest I will ever get to them, or hey you may never know! I’ll probably end up marrying one or the other! 😀

Big Ben & Hyde Park!

LONDON

First things first, one cannot leave London without taking a tour in the House of Parliament, looking skyward for a view of the  striking clock tower, Big Ben. Big Ben is one of the most recognizable structures in London, and I’m sure we can all recognize London due to Big Ben. After looking at Big Ben, and taking as many pictures as one possibly can, taking a bike ride around Hyde Park sounds like a great idea. Hyde Park is one of London’s eight royal parks and i t is one of the greatest parks in the whole wide world! It sounds pretty fun, and also sounds like a lot of walking and bike riding.

House of Parliament, Hyde Park, and getting a view of Big Ben are the several places I will be going to on my first day in London. For my classmates and I traveling to London, getting to see the striking clock tower is pretty exciting is just how seeing the Sears Tower is to many tourists who come visit Chicago. The only difference is that we will not be going inside Big Ben, because it is not open to the public, only special invitation. Well, at least even getting to see Big Ben is good enough for me, and as for Hyde Park, there is no way I am not going to take gym shoes.

11 days, woo!

London!

Hello! My name is Melissa M., and WELCOME to my London blog, the capital city of the United Kingdom and famous for its clock tower, Big Ben. I chose London to be my main focus due to the fact that I, myself, will be there in approximately twelve days as of today. Yes! I am pretty excited, and I cannot wait! To be honest, I am a bit scared about flying since I have never EVER been on a plane, and so that will be my first time flying. I will be going on this trip with a couple teachers from Curie chaperoning, students from Curie as well, and my two best friends. My goal is to travel to as many places as I can, and going to London is just the beginning of my goal! I hope you guys enjoy reading about the many amazing things London has to offer.
